When I launched Hone, a natural-fiber apparel brand for nursing moms, I quickly realized how isolating and overwhelming the startup journey can be. Balancing that with a day job, hosting a postpartum podcast, and running a mom-founder group taught me a crucial lesson: we cannot build great things in a vacuum. We need community.
But traditional networking events can often feel rigid, transactional, and exhausting. I wanted to create something different. Something that blends wellness, genuine human connection, and the beautiful San Diego sunshine.
That's how the San Diego Founder Walk was born.
We gather once a quarter to skip the stuffy conference rooms and heavy happy hours. Instead, we grab a cup of coffee and head out for a casual, two-mile walk along the coast.
The goal is to strip away the pressure of pitching and replace it with authentic conversation. The crowd is a high-vibe mix of brilliant founders, active investors, and ecosystem supporters looking to build real relationships. The cost is nothing, ever.
